When Danielle & Kelsey fell in love between the barrel rooms of their favorite vineyard in Temecula CA, they pictured oak barrels repurposed as cocktail tables and a sunset ceremony overlooking the vines. Here’s how we uncorked their dream:
Terrain & Traffic Flow
Slope Solutions: Build tiered decking or level platforms for seating on hilly vineyard rows.
Stoned Pathways: Lay crushed limestone or temporary boardwalks to protect vines and ease heels.
Barrel-Inspired Décor
Barrel Bars & Tables: Use sanitized barrels topped with live-edge wood slabs for casual surfaces. Or a stunning sweetheart table backdrop design like we did!
Vine-Wrapped Accents: Drape fresh grapevines around arches and railings.
Tasting & Pairing Stations
Sommelier-Led Flights: Schedule guided wine tastings before dinner to engage guests in terroir stories.
Culinary Pairings: Coordinate each course with a featured estate wine, announced by the chef.
Sound & Acoustics in Open-Air
Directional Speakers: Position discreet speakers between rows to keep sound intimate.
Acoustic Canopies: Hang stretched fabric panels overhead to dampen echoes and protect against sun.
Weather & Harvest Contingencies
Tent Hybrids: Clear-span tents with roll-up sides preserve vineyard views and shelter guests- luckily the weather cleared up a couple days before the wedding so we did not have to use the tent! But we had the backup plan just in case ;)
Harvest Timing: Coordinate build-out around picking schedules to avoid equipment and worker conflicts.
